ClamAV version 0.99.2 update for CentOS 5

Howdy all,

After a herculean effort (clamav is always hard to package, but this build takes the cake), I have backported (forward-ported? I dunno, one or the other) our old clamav package to build with ClamAV version 0.99.2 (the current version). There have been some bug reports about high CPU usage from the old version, which this release seems to fix. Upgrading is highly recommended for anyone using ClamAV on CentOS 5.

A lot has changed in the clamav release since I last packaged it for CentOS 5 and the old CentOS 5 packages are quite different from what is currently available for CentOS 6 and 7, so a lot had to be changed in the build...but, I think I've made the resulting binary packages match what you already have, so it should be a drop-in replacement.

Please let us know in the ticket tracker is you see weirdness after the update.

Also note that CentOS 5 is fast approaching it's end of life. We will discontinue support for it on the same date as the CentOS folks. So, if you're still running CentOS 5, now is the time to start your migration plan, as you've only got a few months to get all of your servers migrated to a newer version (CentOS 7 would be the natural choice). You'll get a huge upgrade in the newness of the available packages, and the EOL for CentOS 7 is many years in the future.

Cheers,

Joe
