Subserver same shared IP as parent server

Hi,

I'm trying virtualmin and see it is a great web panel. I'm having an issue with the creation of subserver and wish someone can help.

My server has 2 shared IPs: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (default IP) and yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy (non-default shared IP).

I created a parent server and assign to to the IP yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy

When i login as that new user, when i create a subserver (addon domain), it doesn't automatically assign that addon domain to the IP yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy.

I don't want to change the default shared IP to yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy, since the same kind of problem will happen when the parent server is assigned to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I also don't want to allow user to be able to select IP when they create new addon domain.

In short, i'd like to ask if there is any way to go around, so that, for regular users, addon domain always have the same IP as its parent/primary domain?

Thank you for any help!

Howdy -- when using Virtualmin Pro, you can assign an IP address to a reseller, where any domain that reseller provisions will be using that IP.

Also, when a top-level Virtual Server (in Virtualmin GPL or Pro) is assigned a private IP address, I believe all Sub-Servers maintain that particular private IP address.

I don't believe there's a way to do that with a non-default Shared IP though, sorry!

However, it looks like you're using Virtualmin GPL there. The area here is for folks using Virtualmin Pro.
