Does virtualmin support apache 2.4

I am using virtualmin with apache 2.2.15. Now I would like to upgrade php5.6 to php7 and apache 2.2.15 to apache 2.4.25. Upgrading php7 is not an issue. But I am facing issue in upgrading to apache 2.4.25. Here is what I am doing: Removed apache 2.2.15 Downloaded apache 2.4.25 source and compiled and did make and make install. apache 2.4.25 installed successfully but at different location then existing apache 2.2.15 was installed. So created symlinks to sync httpd and httpd.conf file paths. Virtualmin server creation is working fine. But virtualmin is not identifying latest apache on "System information" page.

Is there any plan in recent future to release new Virtualmin with apache 2.4.25? Or could you guide me in upgrading apache 2.4.25 without affecting virtualmin? Thanks in advance.

Howdy -- Virtualmin uses the Apache version provided by your Linux distribution.

In the case of CentOS, we just make a tweak to the official packages so that suexec works properly with websites in /home, but it's otherwise the CentOS version of Apache -- and that's included in our repository.

There isn't a supported way to upgrade that though. If you need a newer Apache version, our recommendation would be to update to CentOS 7, or perhaps another distribution that provides the Apache version you need.

It looks like you're using Virtualmin GPL there though, the Support area here is for folks using Virtualmin Pro. If you had any followup questions, we'd encourage you to ask those in the Forums. We monitor the Forums, along with lots of wonderful folks in the community. Thanks!
