Hey Robert,

The installer currently supports RHEL 3/4, CentOS 3/4, Fedora 3/4 on x86 systems. Either tonight or tomorrow I will roll out a new interim release with x86_64 support for those systems and SUSE 9.3 and 10.0. Mandrake, Debian and FreeBSD are all coming in another couple of weeks. Slackware is further down the list of planned systems (due to fewer users asking for it to date), but it is very likely to be supported at some not-too-distant point at least in the minimal installation mode.

But, don't take this as a statement that we'll be neglecting Slack. It's just that to do things the Right Way is going to take a bit of time, and we're not willing to do it the Expedient Way (as I think most folks here will agree many of the products in this space have done). Unfortunately Slack makes it much harder to do things the Right Way, since it lacks standard package management with dependency resolution, but Jamie has written a new update/installation system for Webmin to address just this problem for Slack and a few other systems that we plan to support that have unuseable or no standard package management system. It certainly won't take the place of yum or apt, but it will allow for timely updates and an installation of a complex system of components that can be expected to work and keep working through years of updates.

In the meantime, have you tried Virtualmin GPL? It will probably work without trouble on Slackware.

Sorry I can't say, "It'll be out tomorrow!" But I can say with conviction that it will be available at some point in the future. We're going as fast as we can on platform support. It's proven to be the biggest time investment in the whole product, and we're only about halfway through the list.
