Changing an IP address appears to go OK but the IP is not added to the network interface. This is in an effort to migrate about 60 sites to a new machine and being a coward I am using a new dedicated IP for each virtual server. Just to make sure the backup works and then I can just change it in DNS. Restarting the network and then using the ifconfig command shows the IP is not really there. ?? Would it be better to edit a file manually rather than use the control panel?

I will just use the restore from a backup option. That will properly add the IP at the time it is restored (a different IP) and it seems to work. So I just won't change it after the fact.

Were you restoring domains that have their own IPs, or are all your domains on the same IP?
