When you create a custom global variable through Virtualmin's UI, then it is saved in the /etc/webmin/virtual-server/globals file, however none of Virtualmin's nor Webmin's backups (with all the features and modules selected) cover the file. I am not sure if that file refers more to Virtualmin or Webmin, but it should definitely be covered in either software's backup. Thanks for consideration!
