Updating from PHP 7.0 to PHP 7.2

Hello all,

I am currently running Ubuntu 16.04 with PHP 7.0 on a Virtualmin LEMP installation with PHP-FPM enabled.

I recently attempted a test upgrade to 18.04.1, which apparently swaps out PHP 7.0 for 7.2. Subsequent to the upgrade, however, I notice that Virtualmin still insists on using PHP 7.0 in PHP-FPM mode.

What is the proper way for Virtualmin to recognise and use the newer PHP version in FPM mode? Or will I have to do a clean install in 18.04 instead? Thank you.

No need to upgrade ubuntu. you can try adding https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/php to your apt sources, there are several flavours of php there. The instructions for doing that are on the page. You can also have several versions of php running on ubuntu (although I'm not sure if available for fpm), just google it.

good luck

Hello trenzterra,

Could you please try to run following to check if virtualmin detect new php System Settings -> Re-Check Configuration

Try this and see if it detects and changes automatically.
