Checking Configuration - NSCD running on system

When Re-Check Configuration, Virtualmin shows this line:

"Warning - the name service caching daemon (NSCD) is running on your system. This may prevent Virtualmin from properly creating new Unix users and groups."

NSCD (Name Service Cache Daemon) is a daemon that provides a cache for the most common name service requests. It provides caching or accesses of passws, group, hosts.

When you decided to show that warning did you encounter any issues before? If this creates trouble it should be disabled as service. Personally I found this in Debian 9 but not 7, so I disabled it as once.

Howdy -- that service isn't enabled by default on a typical installation, though yes we have seen issues with it. There are specific cases where it can be useful though.

If you have additional questions, since you're using Virtualmin GPL, you'd want to ask those in the Forums. Thanks!
