Virtualmin servers are sooooo slow - like 5-10 seconds for page load

Guys,

I need your help - your product works great and has worked for us many years but I suspect we have something messed up and I don't know where to look.

Anytime we connect from Cloudmin to one of our virtualmin servers (pro or gpl) we are now getting horrible load times - up to 10 seconds a page. I don't know how to fix so hoping you guys and can say "hey dumbass, did you check X" and I can go "doh, that makes sense"...

I'm not sure if this is being caused by the the Cloudmin server (what I think) or each virtualmin server in our system. But one system not right makes more sense. This all used to work perfectly, but we've had this issue for months and haven't been able to figure it out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!

We've just seen a similar slowness sort of request, where suddenly someone's Cloudmin control panel was taking much longer to load than expected.

The issue there ended up being related to a faulty nameserver. That is, the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf were no longer working, and causing DNS lookups to take a long time and then ultimately fail. That in turn caused Cloudmin to be unhappy, taking a long time to load.

Is there any chance that the nameservers either on the main Cloudmin server, or the systems you're connecting to, are having some troubles?
