Additional KVM parameters

Dear Team,

I am Setting up KVM for running SAP HANA DB. with QEMU Processor by Default.

I am not able to install SAP HANA DB in it, I get below error.

Installation of SAP HANA Database System failed. CPU is not supported. Instruction set 'sse4.2' is missing. Installation of SAP HANA Database failed Installation failed error installing Cannot create system installsapinit.sh FAILED

How Do i Simulate Physical CPU with SSE4.2 Support , What parameter should be added wile creating VM.

Does the physical system hosting the KVM instance have this CPU capability? You can check using the /proc/cpuinfo file.

Is there any way we can pass host cpu parameters to VM insted of QEMU

Ok, it looks like your CPU does support sse4.2

In Cloudmin, try clicking "Edit System", and then under "Advanced KVM settings" in the "Additional KVM parameters" box enter -cpu +sse4.2 and click "Save". Then shut down and re-start the VM.
