Unable to assign dedicated ipv6 address

This is realted to the other two ipv6 bugs. It seems if virt gets out of numerical order in any way it gets weird. I am not unable to assign a certain ipv6 address to a domain where it should already be assigned this address:

Updating IP addresses in virtual server mmarketplace.org

Adding IPv6 address 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:113 .. Failed to change IP address : Failed to remove old IPv6 address : SIOCDIFADDR: Cannot assign requested address

The thing is..if i go look in the networking section that .113 is there..virt jsut fails to assign it inside of itself. so i remove the ipv6 from the domain and then remove it from networking and try to manually assign that address and that's the error i get.

it's in there..and it was NOT present beforehand as i made sure to remove it.

Progress or questions?

Just tried to add another domain to my server and got this: Adding IPv6 address 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:116 .. .. IPv6 address failed! : Failed to remove old IPv6 address : SIOCDIFADDR: Cannot assign requested address

This ip address is not assigned in the virtualmin list of ip addresses..but in webmin it shows: 2604:4100:2:7::2 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:100 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:101 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:102 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:103 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:104 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:105 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:106 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:107 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:108 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:109 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10a 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10b 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10c 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10d 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:15 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10e 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:10f 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:110 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:111 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:112 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:114 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:113 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:115 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:116

I removed the 116 entry from webmin and tried again. Mind you that 116 entry was NOT present before i tired to add this so somehow it got added into webmin but then virt was somehow got confused.

Once i removed the ipv6 entry and then tried to create the account again i got this same error: Adding IPv6 address 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:116 .. .. IPv6 address failed! : Failed to remove old IPv6 address : SIOCDIFADDR: Cannot assign requested address

I then created the account without an ipv6 at all and tried to add it later. Each time i tried it with allocating the ipv6 on the fly the creation takes forever. i am unable to add the ipv6 later i get the same: Updating IP addresses in virtual server hill-tech-solutions.net

Adding IPv6 address 2604:4100:2:7:0:0:0:116 .. Failed to change IP address : Failed to remove old IPv6 address : SIOCDIFADDR: Cannot assign requested address

I then have to take the ipv6 address and manually assing it and check the already active checkbox. Something is very wrong with virt right now.

Looks like all these bugs have the same cause (some IPs not being detected), for which we have a code fix already for inclusion in the next release.
