Virtualmin Pro, AWS, and FTP

I am having trouble getting ftp to work.

I am using the virtualmin pro AMI on a small instance with one domain and one ip address. I can access the site via the ip address or the funky aws domain for now.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get ftp connected. My main user is set up as an ftp user and I have double checked the userid and password.

Something tells me that there is something I need to do with the dns or ip address settings but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Any ideas?

hard to say without error messages. Assuming port 21 is open,
what sometimes helps is to switch to active or passive mode in your ftp client.
