Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I have used the VMPro script to install the Simple machines Forum s/w in two of my sites. In both cases when I try to use the SW I get:

Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

The server is about 80% idle according to top and there isn't any unusual activity I can see.

That seems relevant but I don't want to have to do this for every site that wants a forum. Any suggestions? Debugging data I can supply?

Agreed, you certainly shouldn't have to do that for each site.

That said, I am kind of curious if that solves the problem for this particular one... if so, we may need to bring that to Jamie's attention so he can look into possibly changing the defaults.
