updating BIND DNS with freedns.afraid.org

I wish to set up a practice server at home. I am able to access the server through the assigned freedns address, but when I try and access a virtual server, I get a "Cannot display" page. When I ping said server, I get the internal IP address of the server.

I started to follow

but I got lost

I found all the sections mentioned and am wondering if it is possible to find a walkthrough with a bit more explanation of what is required for these fields please?

Nevermind the above, I seem to have that sorted now, I was incorrectly setting the nameserver information on the domain.

Having now fixed this, I get both sites pointing to my external IP, but I cannot differentiate between the two on the server. Both sites open the /var/www/html folder, and not their respective virtualserver folders.

Where should I look for an error log to send for further diagnosis please?

All sorted.

Little bit of RTFM, with a whole lot of

"Hello IT, Have you switched it off and on again"

And we're up and running.
