Major Email Issues

I'm having major Email issues and my hosting company doesn't provide support. Initially there was a plain text authorisation issue which has been corrected. Now when I go to receive mail on the domain I get a 0X800CCC0E error and when I try to send mail the password is rejected. Is there still a permissions issue in the Postfix authentication system? Please help as I'm pulling my hair out on this one and at the stage where I'm going to recommend to my client that they transfer to a simple business hosting package. Thanks in advance.
