Hello,
I just set up a new virltualmin pro installation on a Debian 6 but can't problem receiving mail for the virtual server set up (I have only one at the moment). I get the "Plaintext authentification disallowed..." error message, even though the setting is correct (disable_plaintext_auth = no)
I compared the Postfix and Dovecot settings with my other virtualmin installation (n Debian 5) and they are the same.
Reading other posts, I wonder whether the problem could come from the domain name : it is "euf.eu.com". I saw someone having problem with "xxxx.uk.co". Is there a special stting to make when you have "xxxx.yy.zzz" domaine names ?

One thing more : I set up a webmail (Squirrel mail) and I can login without problem.

Howdy -- while you shouldn't normally need to do this, one thing you may want to try is restarting Dovecot. It's possible the settings are in your config, but for some reason aren't active in the running daemon.
You can restart Dovecot by running this command as root:

I'm glad that did the trick! We'll have to review the installation script to make sure it automatically is restarting Dovecot.
