I keep getting "Service unavailable" errors when trying to post on the Virtualmin forum using this url https://www.virtualmin.com/node/add/forum/9 .
Which is really bad, because since I use Virtualmin GPL it's pretty much the only support option available to me.
I found, and replied to this bug: https://www.virtualmin.com/node/23877 . But nobody has replied since then, but it's been a whole day, and two of my sites have gone 2 days without backups, because I can't seem to post on this forum anymore to answer my question about how to fix my backups.
Please whitelist me from your spam blocker, so I can post support questions on your forum.
Pasted below is the forum post I've been trying to post:
Subject: Virtualmin backup failed with lockfile error: Failed to lock file /home/someuser/.backup
Body:
Our housing provider's network went down causing a scheduled backup to fail. Weirdly, it was still running two days later, so I killed it. But it somehow kept an annoying lockfile around.
A manual backup ended with the error:
Backup failed : Failed to lock file /home/someuser/.backup after 5 minutes. Last error was :
How should I fix this lock file? Should I just delete the .backup directory?

I think there may be something wrong with your account, though I'm not sure what that is yet.
What IP address are you coming from?
You can determine that by browsing to "whatismyip.com".
