Incompatibility webmin-virtualmin-mailman to Debian 8 (Jessie)

Hello everyone,

Allow me to open this ticket it here to warn you of an incompatibility of the module Mailman (mailman_1%3a2.1.18-2_amd64 - webmin-virtualmin-mailman_6.3_all.deb) to Debian 8 (Jessie), creating a list works perfectly, but when I want to add a member, I see this error : Failed to add list member : Add members to a list from the command line. Usage: add_members [options] listname Options: --regular-members-file=file -r file A file containing addresses of the members to be added, one address per line. This list of people become non-digest members. If file is -', read addresses from stdin. Note that -n/--non-digest-members-file are deprecated synonyms for this option. --digest-members-file=file -d file Similar to above, but these people become digest members. --welcome-msg= -w Set whether or not to send the list members a welcome message, overriding whatever the list'ssend_welcome_msg' setting is. --admin-notify= -a Set whether or not to send the list administrators a notification on the success/failure of these subscriptions, overriding whatever the list's admin_notify_mchanges' setting is. --nomail -n Set the newly added members mail delivery to disabled by admin. --help -h Print this help message and exit. listname The name of the Mailman list you are adding members to. It must already exist. You must supply at least one of -r and -d options. At most one of the files can be-'.

Can you solve this incompatibility ?

However, everything works on a Debian 7, but not on version 8.

Thank you !

Howdy -- there was previously a problem we saw, where that issue could issue when adding list members using Webmin -> Servers -> Mailman -> Members.

That should be corrected now, but we'll look into that to determine why that's still occurring.

In the meantime, there are two other ways to add list members which should work.

You can go into Webmin -> Servers -> Mailman -> Manage, and there, you'd be interacting with Mailman itself, where you can add members.

Also, people desiring to be on the list can also use the various email aliases created in /etc/aliases for list management, such as joining, posting, and leaving.

I always have this error, that said, it works when I go to "Manage", and I add my subscribers, and although they appear in the members section.

Thank you for your speed !
