Typo in the help text

I know we can change webserver access and error logs individually for a virtual server on Virtual server Configuration > Website options page. However, I wonder is it possible to set the default path values for both log files systemwide?

I couldn't find such an option on Virtualmin configuration or templates, so if there is none, then please add such an option. If we can change the logs file paths individually for virtual servers, then it is quite logical to set custom paths system-wide.

By the way, there is a typo on help text when you click on Webserver access log file. It reads:

This field sets the file to which Apache access logs are written for this virtual server. Each HTTP request served by this website's domain will be written to this file as a separate line. If should only be changed if you are moving logging to a different directory, such as /var/log/virtualmin or the server's home directory.

I believe this part If should only be changed was supposed to be written as This should only be changed.

The same typo report holds for Webserver error log file

In fact there's such an option in templates > Apache website > Directives and settings for new websites. So please just correct the typo in the help text.

I've fixed the typos for the next release. Thanks for the heads up.

You can modify the Server Template for Apache website ("Directives and settings for new websites") to include log directives that point anywhere you like. I'm pretty sure all of the stuff that needs to know where logs are (rotation, log viewing, etc.) is smart enough to find them based on the Apache config. But, let me know if that's not the case, and we'll have to sort it out.

I don't want to add more options, unless people are really clamoring for them (I'd like to get rid of some, even). The UI is already way too complicated, especially for users who don't spend a lot of time in Virtualmin. This is definitely a power user kinda feature, so having it be something where you need to know how to use the Apache directives directly seems reasonable.

Fair enough, Joe.

So let's mark this issue properly then.
