Questions regarding purchase and payment

Hi,

We are about to buy another Virtualmin Pro license and have a few questions.

Can we buy a Virtualmin 100 license on a monthly plan at start and then after a few month move it to annual plan? We do prefer annual but at this point i'm not sure how long and IF we are going to keep the old server, If we are closing that server we can move it's license to the new server.

Is it possible to buy the license and pay it for 3 month at once?

We have to use Paypal for payment if I can't pay by card as a one time purchase. We are not allowed to add the company card details to automatic billing.

Best regards, Leffe

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!

We don't have a way to pay for 3 months at a time... what you'd need to do is use a credit card in that case, and pay monthly for those 3 months.

When you're ready, you could cancel at any time, and then purchase a yearly license. There isn't a way to convert it to an annual license though.

We can do Paypal payments, though note that those are a manual process -- and due to that, we can only do those yearly, we don't have a monthly option with them.

Let us know if you have any additional questions regarding the above!

If I pay with credit card, can I pay without storing the credit card details and codes in the payment gateway, like a normal one time purchase with Mastercard SecureCode or Verified by Visa

I think I can do like this instead,

I install the new server with our old license and run it on two servers for a couple of weeks, in that time I probably know if the old one should be closed down or not. If we close it the license is OK, and if we keep it online I purchase a new annual 100 license for the new server. Is it OK to do it like this?

Yeah that seems like a simpler solution.

While I do suppose you could make a purchase, and then go in and later remove your credit card details if you don't need the license for more than a month -- however, your above option will work just fine for a couple of weeks.

An additional option is that if you don't need Virtualmin Pro features for this system, you could also just install Virtualmin GPL.

But your solution will work just fine, no problem.

Hi Eric,

I did as you recommended, I bought a new 100 annual license with a card and removed it afterwords, and it feels more right to buy a new license for the new server!

Thank you for your help!
