Spam folders not created

I checked the forums before submitting this, but I see no resolutions for this...

If I understand correctly, when Spam Filtering is enabled for a site, a Spam folder should be created for each user in their Maildir folder. No such folder is created. In addition, I have sent a couple of test spam messages (GTUBE), and I do not know where they are delivered, if at all.

I may have resolved this. It appears that despite changes I had made in Module Config, the procmail recipes that had been created for my test site were still deleting all my test spam. This was clear because /var/log/procmail.log showed the messages going to /dev/null. A temporary manual edit of the recipe for the site (located in /usr/local/etc/webmin/virtual-server/procmail) allowed all the test spam to be received and verified that all is working.

It appears that the .spam folder is created only when needed.

This leaves me with some question:

(1) How can we adjust the spam delete score (or any other spam defaults) for a site once a site has been created?

(2) Could the spam folder be created when the user's maildir is created?

(3) How can we use .Spam as the folder for spam, so that the capitalization matches the other subfolders (i.e. Sent, Drafts, Trash)

Yes, the spam folder is only created as needed.

To answer your other questions :

1) To adjust the spam deletion score, select the domain from the left menu and go to Server Configuration -> Spam and Virus Delivery

2) If you really want the spam folder to be created for new users, you could setup a 'skeleton' directory for new mailboxes containing the Maildir/.Spam/{cur,tmp,new} sub-directories. This can be configured at System Setting -> Module Config -> Defaults for new domains -> Initial files directory for mail users.

3) You can change the default folder name for spam at System Setting -> Module Config -> Spam filtering options -> Default delivery for spam. Select "Other file or email address" and enter $HOME/Maildir/.Spam

Does this answer all your questions?

I think that answers my questions. I didn't see that spot in Server Configuration for Spam and Virus Delivery... there's just so many options in Virtualmin, sometimes it's hard to find them all.

I think I will setup the folders for the new users using a skeleton directory. Will provide a cleaner presentation to my end users with a consistent look-and-feel. Otherwise, I'll be fielding questions such as, "where's my spam folder?" when I create new users. I have specific clients in mind who I know would be asking :-)

Ok, cool .. since it looks like all questions have been answered, I will close this bug.

Yeah, sorry about that; I should have closed it.

Also, sorry I thought it was a bug.
