Since my upgrade from 12.04 to 14.04 LTS the antivirus (CLAMD) seems no longer be running.
After running the Virtualmin configuration check I receive the following error:
You have selected to use clamdscan for virus scanning, but the clamd server it talks to is not running
I also have the experience that this CLAMD configuration most of the time breaks by itself. So nothing is changed except the service dies by itself in Virtualmin.
Please help and advise.

Howdy -- was the clamd service definitely running at one point? Or is it possible that it hasn't been running at all since the upgrade?
Also, what is the output of these two commands:
free -mdmesg | tail -30
