Plesk on Virtuozzo to Virtualmin on Xen

My associate has a little Plesk VPS running on Virtuozzo. I have a dedicated Xen server running one VPS currently, CentOS 5 and Virtualmin Pro. I would like to offer my friend a lifeboat off his horrid, limited, no-SSH platform. Besides he's at 90% on inodes.

Anyway, what options are available in the Virtualmin suite to expedite such a move? I could add a VPS to my machine, with Vmin GPL, and put Vmin on his Virtuozzo box, and then Cloudmin(?) would let me auto-magically transfer domains from the old server to the new one?

Thanks for any insights.

Howdy,

Well, you can't really add Virtualmin to a live server.

However, what you can do is log into the Plesk server, and generate a set of backups for all the domains on that server.

Once you have backups for all the domains, you could them import those Plesk backups into any running Virtualmin system.

If you're thinking of setting up a new VPS for your friend, that would work great! Pop Virtualmin GPL on there, import the Plesk backups (using Add Servers -> Migrate Virtual Server), and you should be good to go.

Hey Eric, Thanks a lot. I've done cPanel imports, dozens, I think, without trouble. Never had to look farther down the list to see the Plesk options.
