We had a bit of downtime this morning, due to a currently unexplained virtual machine crash, and once it came back up, we were in read-only mode for about 30 minutes, while I repaired the database.
As far as I can tell, no data was lost (the CHECK TABLE and REPAIR TABLE process revealed no damaged user data rows, but during a system crash data integrity can be compromised in ways that make it impossible to know that data was lost), but if you created an account during the couple of minutes immediately preceding the crash, you may need to recreate the account. I doubt that is true of anyone...but, if you're unable to login and you created your account this morning, you may need to recreate it.
