Adding webpages to the server

hi guys, im new to virtualmin and my question is 1) where should i add all the webpages, is it in the document root or inside the /var/www ? 2) do i need to change the path for the document root to var/www? 3) i have installed my ubuntu server in the virtualbox and my question is do i need to use same hostname i declared for my ubuntu server with the virtualmin virtual server? this is my first question to this forum and i do hope that you guys can help me with this. thanks.

hi, welcome to virtualmin forums.

You should upload your pages to domain users folder. For example if your domain is prettywebsite.com your location where you upload your files would be /home/prettywebsite/public_html - you do not need to upload nor touch /var/www. Virtualmin does not uses /var/www at all.

Regards hostname you can use anything which will identify your server on your network.. you can use something like I do: host.realdomain.com or box.realdomain.com - realdomain.com means some real domain your purchased somewhere. Once again, it could be anything, same for host. or box.
